Located in the heart of Broward County, Florida, the town of Davie boasts a moderate population of about 90,000 residents.
Founded by a group of workers with origins from the US-owned Panama Canal Zone, the town was originally known as Zona. The name was eventually changed to Davie to honor developer Randolph Davie, who purchased several thousand acres in the area.
Today, Davie tries to maintain a Western vibe, from the significant number of horse owners to its history of cattle herding.
As with much of South Florida, Davie also has a sizeable Hispanic population, which contributes to a cultural smorgasbord in the area.
