The History of the Island- Built by An Experienced Developer

The Village at Island Estates exemplifies the far-sighted vision of Gary Cohen. Since the 1960s, in South Florida alone, he and his family have been involved in the land development and planning approximately 1,000 acres, including shopping centers, commercial offices, high-rises, multi-family and single-family homes.

In 1998, a company headed by Gary Cohen began work on the South Island, creating Island Estates, an elite waterfront community of single-family estate homes with a private marina and bridges connecting the two islands to the mainland. Today, Gary and his wife, Susan, live in Island Estates in one of the homes his company developed.

All governmental entitlements are in place for the North Island, which will be home to The Village at Island Estates. The development of the proposed 148 residences of The Village at Island Estates will complete the development vision.
